Four Incredible Locations Your Central Coast Photographer Loves!
Pismo Beach
Pismo Beach is a classic California coastal town with white sandy beaches perfect for photos, beautiful strolls, and plenty of outdoor activities! It has a reputation for its fantastic wineries, golfing, fishing, and plenty of delicious restaurants and food trucks. Pismo Beach Pier’s soft sand extends into the ocean, making it perfect for family swimming. The Shell Beach area is rocky and ideal for exploring tide pools. October through February, the Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove sees over 10,000 butterflies annually as they migrate south to escape the cold! In addition to glorious beaches, Pismo Beach also has over 900 acres of Preserve with 10 miles of trails and roads perfect for hiking and horseback riding. Additionally, the Oceano sand dune area provides an excellent spot for hiking, surfing, digging for clams, and adventurous ATV rides! Whatever your interest, Pismo Beach has something for every family and their Central Coast Photographer!
Avila Beach
Avila Beach is a fantastic spot for plenty of family-friendly fun! Their stunning beaches are breathtaking, lined by the mountainous coastline. It has plenty of biking and walking trails for outdoor enthusiasts and some incredible scenic opportunities like the Point San Luis Lighthouse right on the rocky shoreline of the ocean. I haven’t met a Central Coast Photographer who doesn’t love this location! There are plenty of wineries to experience throughout your visit and various acclaimed restaurants to enjoy. The Central Coast Aquarium lets you get a little closer and more personal to Central Coast wildlife. Still, chances are that if you visit the ocean, you will see plenty of extraordinary wildlife in its natural habitat!
Morro Bay
Morro Bay is home to over six miles of sandy beachfront. Their bay is a protected sanctuary, perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, or biking along meandering paths. The harbor is where you can spot fishermen returning with daily catches and likely spot some Sea Otters sunbathing! Morro Rock is a distinctive landmark, perched on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and home to nesting Peregrine Falcons! There are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors of Morro Bay with your Central Coast photographer. Including hiking, birding, fishing, biking, and more! Not to mention their multitude of shopping, museums, galleries, and chances to catch some live entertainment!
Cayucos
Cayucos State Beach has many fantastic views of the rocky coastline, which is excellent for surfing, swimming, and tide-pooling! It is known for its fishing pier and historical buildings, many of which have been reimagined as fun and unique shops, restaurants, antique stores, and more. The beaches have picnic tables, play equipment, restrooms, and outside showers. So it’s a great spot to plan to spend the day!
